"We stayed in the Kabuki room and it was so worth it! The room is so cool and very clean. Comes with a lot of amenities that they replenish each day! The hotel is within a shopping district which is so nice to walk around at night. Staff was friendly and welcoming!"

"Our stay was excellent from start to finish. We booked a Hollywood Double room and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and immaculately clean it was—especially by Kyoto standards. The room felt modern with a touch of traditional decor, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed for travelers. The location was absolutely ideal: just a short walk to both Nishiki Market and Pontocho Alley, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city, dining, and shopping. Breakfast each morning was a highlight of our stay. The buffet offered a delicious and extensive selection of both local Japanese dishes and Western options, with something for every taste. Even the little details stood out—the provided pyjamas were exceptionally comfortable and added a nice touch to the overall experience. We would gladly stay here again and would highly recommend Hotel Musse Kyoto to anyone visiting the city."

"This place is amazing the staff there is very friendly and helpful. It has great amenities and it’s near the train station (Marutamachi station) and a bus station with in a short walk. There is Family Mart (convenience store) and some restaurants within very close proximity and less than a ten minute walk you have other choices like Mc Donald’s and 7eleven. If you are planning on visiting Kyoto you need to kyot-go to this hotel. "

"Breakfast and evening meals were delicious and much choice. Staff were beyond helpful and polite. Location was perfect for bus systems."

"The breakfast menu was fairly average, all pre-made and not that appetising (in my option). The staff were friendly and helpful enough, but the time to check in was very slow. One of the servers in the bar took our order then preceded to take other orders, and left us for a good 5 minutes sitting at the bar with nothing....so we left. Laundry facilities were good and inexpensive. The room were very very small and we were not able to unback our bags nor even place them where there they weren't in the way. Big negative. The position of the hotel was very good; close to Gion and good restaurants and other shopping. Probably the best aspect of our stay. "

"Good small hotel in Kyoto. No ability to use stairs outside of emergencies clogs the elevators. Also, front desk was unable to help me do any luggage forwarding to Tokyo from the hotel. Reason was somewhat unclear, third-party provider software they referred just didn't work."

"A superb property that punches well above its price point. The hotel has a beautiful and high quality interior and exterior design. The rooms in particular are fantastic, combining highly aesthetic Japanese design influences with comfort and usability. The general quality of the materials used through is high. The staff are another highlight, clearly well trained, helpful and friendly. A delight to deal with. We very much enjoyed the breakfast offering each day, as well as the access to the executive lounge. The availability of parking on site was also very helpful during our stay. Two small suggestions for improvements would be: 1. An alternative solution for the temporary storage of guest luggage awaiting onward transfer. This is held in the lobby and diminished the stylish space somewhat. 2. The main breakfast area is very busy at peak times. Perhaps the layout of food items could be updated to reduce bottlenecks. For example, the coffee, juice and bakery stations, which tend to be the most heavily used, are all located next to one another. We were fortunate to have access to breakfast at the executive lounge. This was a much quieter and relaxing experience. The quality of the executive / suite level amenities is high and well worth considering. Overall a 10/10 property though. This was our second stay and we will definitely return. "
