"Nice clean bedroom, with a comfy bed. Stone floor, l think it would accommodate dogs, slippers were provided for guests use. We had a ground floor room, it was noisy as it was on a busy road. The bedroom was tired but fine for our two night stay. The staff were great and did everything to please its residents. Breakfast was super, a good choice and well cooked. Parking was great, a secure carpark for guests."

"We stayed two nights for a reunion of friends who graduated from university 50 years ago. The hotel is a traditional pub with four small but comfortable bedrooms and a terrific location with wonderful views across the Peak District. "The room was very beautiful and clean. Staff was incredibly welcoming and kind, and helped us with our heavy luggage without hesitation. Within five minutes of our arrival, we were welcomed with fresh tea, and our room had complimentary cakes! "Firstly, the only reason I haven't given this hotel a terrible score is because of the staff. They were friendly, welcoming and did their best to help. Unfortunately, The Devonshire Arms was a real disappointment considering the £180 we paid for one night. I genuinely wouldn't recommend paying more than £100 per night. "Do not use the postcode alone as it takes you further up the road to the wrong property. Only stayed for 2 nights while we did the big hike marathon but the property was very nice, it could do with a little TLC for minor things on the decor but nothing that really bothered us. Very close to Bakewell & a lovely pub over the road with nice food & service. Bit tight on parking but we managed to get on no problem. All in all a lovely stay & would like to return again."

"Average stay, tv not receiving signal, boiler broke down, although owner came out to fix within a few hours. Very poor welcome pack (small bottle of milk). No logs or kindling for log burner. View from back of cottage spoilt by messy and junk strewn garden. Nice location with good pubs in village that did good food, just check what days they open."
