Navy Inn & Bungalows

10/10 Excellent

"An excellent find on Expedia. We loved staying at the Navy Inn & Bungalows. My wife, daughter and I were looking for a short relaxing getaway and we definitely found one. Located close to the airport and a distance away from Istanbul, this place was exactly what we were looking for. We stayed in the family room which included two rooms (one double and a triple single), a big hot tub/ jacuzzi, a sauna room and an en suite bathroom. The room and amenities were excellent - though we would recommend a service of the hot tub and sauna room. The staff were exceptional in making our stay a pleasurable one. The food at the restaurant, on the site, was superb. We definitely recommend the "Clay pot kebab" - both for the spectacle of how it is served and the taste. Though the restaurant was a bit pricy, given the fact that there are not many alternative options around, the quality of the food and service was worth it. Thank you to everyone at Navy Inn and Bungalow's we look forward to another visit in the future."

"We decided to stay at this hotel during our 15 hour layover. We arrived in Istanbul after an 11 hour flight and pre-ordered a shuttle to avoid long waits and aggressive taxi drivers. The 25 euro price was steep but worth it for a seamless transition. But it wasn't seamless. It took over 20 minutes for the driver to arrive and we were stuck waiting with poor communication. The room itself was fine. Tiny bathroom and the toilet wouldn't flush in the morning. Since we were leaving the hotel at 4am, we booked the private shuttle back to the airport for another 25 euros only to find out the shuttle wasn't private and we were there with 2 other people. Not ideal to have to make small talk after an exhausting flight. The airport is less than 10 minutes away and they charge 50 euros round trip and don't show up for pick up and then don't provide private shuttle on departure. The staff was nice, but I would never stay here again."
