Hotels near Bagno Gioia

"Firstly it's in a great location right inside the beautiful town of Luca. Please note there may not be anyone around when you check in. Their website says there is someone there between the hours of 3pm to 6.30pm but we didn't see anyone and believe it is false advertising for the owner to put that down in his website.. Therefore please have your passport to scan and follow the instructions. I would much rather see humans but automated entry seems to be the way it's going. Everything is fine unless you have issues which we did. The main issue was the lack of hot water which made showering impossible unless you like intermittent cold with a little hot every now and again. I sent email requests before arriving which weren't answered and then asked for the hot water issue to be fixed but no reply. After 4 hours without reply I decided to call via WhatsApp and thankfully the owner answered and came to the apartment. He tried to say that the water issue wasn't a problem but I got him to look in the boiler room and he eventually agreed that it was at the wrong setting and fixed it. We also asked for coffee and tea which wasn't provided even though we they provided lots of sugar. But the next day we still didn't get coffee. It's only a small thing but it felt like we were an inconvenience to the manager for asking. I don't usually complain but felt necessary to leave a poor review. So if you have to contact the manager contact him via WhatsApp..hotels.com messaging doesn't work"

"This is a bare bones hotel. Front desk is only staffed on a part time basis. If you need anything ask the cleaning staff. No breakfast, coffee, or vending machines. Nicely remodeled though."

"Really lovely room with a little sofa area and separate bedroom. Bed was really comfortable and room quiet. Breakfast was very good too and served to you. Very conveniently located near the train station and just a 10 minute walk to the beautiful city of Lucca. "

Staff said that the name change and rebranding was meant to attract business people but there were no working outlets in the room and no usb or other charging outlets apart from one socket in the bathroom. Very inconvenient. The place was much nicer to stay at in the past 15 years but has been let down by its owners sadly. "
