"Booked for long weekend with family. Check in was at 3pm but had to wait 2.5 for rooms to be cleaned and got access to rooms at 5:30pm. No drinks from bar no compensation offered (complained and got it later), staff were very unhelpful. Delay completely ruined break. They offered a late checkout next day as compensation so we thought we would use the pool to find that children are not allowed in the pool until late afternoon to allow club members to use the pool, awesome. "Extremely personable landlord, Craig. Room was prepared ready for us to check in early (off to a wedding after a long drive) and sandwiches provided on request which was very much appreciated. Ate at the on-sight restaurant - several items not available on the menu, no lager available either. Food was very good with Sunday roasts. "Been several years since I last stayed here. It is in a beautiful rural hamlet only 20 mins from Welwyn Garden City. It is a very quaint place to stay that is dog friendly. The staff are also great.
