We recently stayed at this hotel in Amsterdam and unfortunately were quite disappointed with the overall experience.
What was completely unacceptable was what happened on the morning of checkout. Shortly before checkout time, a male staff member entered our room without knocking or giving any notice while we were in the middle of changing. He quickly left, but shortly after, a female staff member did the exact same thing… again entering without knocking. This was a huge invasion of privacy and made us extremely uncomfortable.
The condition of the room itself was also not acceptable. The air conditioning did not work during our stay, the bathroom fan was broken which caused a very unpleasant smell, and the shower flooded the bathroom every single time it was used.
I do want to mention that the reception staff were friendly and we appreciated being able to store our luggage before checking in.
The location is a bit further out from the city center, which we were aware of when booking, so that was not a major issue for us.
Overall, while some staff members were kind, the issues with the room and the lack of basic respect for guest privacy means we would not stay here again.
