I recently stayed at the Hampton by Hilton in Amsterdam for three nights and, unfortunately, it fell short of expectations.
Breakfast was okay. There was only one working coffee machine, which caused frustrating queues each morning. For a hotel of this size, this seemed poorly managed.
The room itself was a letdown. The bathroom had visible mould in the grout, which was off-putting and suggested a lack of thorough cleaning. The bed was equally disappointing – the mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable, and the pillows were lumpy, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. I actually woke up each morning with back pain.
On a positive note, the staff were friendly and courteous throughout my stay, which was appreciated.
