"The Borneo Eagle is an exclusive five star hotel - newly launched. The staff are excellent, facilities good - the only issue we had was the plethora of sand flies which caused a lot of issues sitting outside. We talked to the Manager about this and understand a machine is being shipped to deal with this issue - also the beach on the offside of the hotel was covered with plastic bottles and rubbish, which should be cleared on a daily basis to support the high quality nature of the hotel."

"We only stayed briefly between connecting flights and booked into two rooms. The staff at reception were absolutely first rate making us very welcome and the rooms were both spotless. We didn’t eat due to our brief staff so cannot comment on the food at the restaurant. The hotel is the perfect choice for quick access to the airport at Koh a Kinabalu which is a cheap taxi ride away."

"Everything is good though but for the shower which flood terribly after every use. Maybe the drainage is blocked. Maintainance should look into it. The breakfast buffet is excellent though. I'd give it a four and a half star. Nice overall👍"
