There are plenty of shops and restaurants, all within a couple of minutes walk. "I booked this hotel mainly because it is near the station and I wanted to travel around the Ticino region by train. I wasn't expecting such a charming property that reflects the grand era of travel of a century ago. Despite its age, it has been very well upgraded and my room was very comfortable, with a balcony view of the garden and its many palm trees. "Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Internationale du Lac. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location can’t be beat for walking along the lake and general atmosphere. We enjoyed the “honesty bar” and outdoor space, including ping pong. The breakfast was delicious, with the best muesli of our trip and excellent croissants. A truly great historic hotel."

"The location was good - 10 minutes walk from the station and convenient for local buses and close to the centre so local restaurants etc were close. The hotel provided a Ticino ticket for us to use for free travel on local buses and trains. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful. We dined in the hotel on a couple of occasions and the food and service was good. I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel. "

"We had a great stay at Hotel Firenze Lugano! The receptionist was so sweet and welcoming, which set a really nice tone for our visit. The location was perfect for us — we walked the Olive Trail to Gandria right from the hotel, and it was a beautiful and manageable distance. We also ate at the onsite restaurant and really enjoyed it — the food was lovely and the atmosphere was relaxed.
