"The hotel’s location is in a quiet neighborhood. Because of this, you don’t have a view from your room since the windows cannot be opened. The location is also not close to the train station, so you will need to learn how to use the local bus system. The room is spacious and has modern features. Overall, it was a good experience staying at this hotel."

"This was a great location, walking distance to so many places and in a quiet location. The hotel has a coffee shop and clothing store attached to it which is really fun and adds a great element to the stay. The common areas, carpeting, doors, walls, and laundry equipment was quite worn and it gave dorm room/hostel vibes. Not terrible, but noticeable. The nightly price is fair. Beds, linens, and room sizes were very comfortable."

"lili kyoto is not a typical hotel. It is small — three units on the ground floor, probably about the same on the floor above (I didn’t take the elevator up to check). It is totally unstaffed; to get in the front door you must obtain a code from the owner/manager. I got mine by having a nice lady in the Kyoto railway station tourist office call the owner/manager, who promptly emailed instructions. The front “lobby” and hallway are unheated. There is no breakfast buffet, no vending machines, none...

"This hotel is truly a gem. I can’t believe how nice it was and in a great location in Kyoto. Super clean, great beds, and great service all around for a crazy cheap price. Highly recommend, best place we stayed in Japan. "
