It seems that with the competition with so many new hotels The Phoenix hotel has gone through a lot of changes, especially the bkfast which is the same every single day, juices are not freshly squeezed, orange juice from powder. The sauna needs desperately a renovation, old towels, and what is very annoying is to be forced to inhale all the cigarette smoke from the locals that do no respect the bkfast area and smoke heavily, The hotel should have a smoke section, also they kind of force the foreign guests to order from the à la carte menu when they offer a buffet for dinner which is affordable and good.

A beautiful hotel very well located. The property is charming, with an exception pool to relax after visiting the amazing temples in Yogyakarta. And it has one of the best breakfast buffets we had in our trip.

Beautiful historic hotel with incredible service. The pool was refreshing, the food was very good. We also received excellent advice from the travel agent on site and had a marvelous 3 days with a guide. Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in the area.

Totally amazing stay at the Phoenix. The most beautiful hotel, the loveliest staff, incredible food and service. The decor of the hotel is outstanding, there is a pool and very helpful travel service to organise tours to the many different attractions around the region. I would recommend to everyone and everyone visiting the amazing city of Yogyakarta.
