"The house was under refurbishment and new ownership but this did not affect my stay at all. It is well placed for trams and rail links, and main roads. I was able to travel in from Chester area and around South Manchester without going into the centre of town. Lovely walks along the Bridgewater Canal and plenty of places to get a bit of shopping nearby. Very comfortable and well furnished, reasonably priced, a welcome change from hotel chains with no individual character. Would recommend."

"Free parking but you need to book your car in on a screen at the bar. Not an easy or simple check in when the bar is open. Lovely and helpful cleaning staff when the bar was closed (in the morning)."

What was not good was the bathroom: we understand that a shared bathroom depends a lot on the other guests, but the grime on the toilet and in the bath tub was days old. We chose not to shower here this morning because we didn’t feel at ease."
