Many come here for the fun amusement park, but this little island has much more to offer. Enjoy peaceful walks, historic buildings and a soothing waterfall.

Wolmido is a much-loved weekend destination for those coming from within Incheon as well as from further away. Join people of all ages who arrive to experience the thrill rides of Wolmi Theme Park, go for a quiet walk, visit cultural and historic sites and pick up some tasty lunch or dinner.

Officially an island, Wolmido is now connected to Incheon by a highway so you can simply take the bus over the water. The island is a former military base that played a crucial role in influencing the outcome of the Korean War in the mid-20th century. See how successful its rebranding as a leisure destination has been as you explore its many attractions.

Wander Culture Street and look for street performers and artists. Head to Wolmi Theme Park to experience the exhilaration of rides such as the fast-spinning Apollo Disco. Explore the peaceful green landscapes that surround the amusement park. Stop at the waterfall and enjoy its soothing sounds.

Admire the beautiful Korean garden design at the old-fashioned Wolmi Traditional Park, filled with ponds, streams and flowers. Enjoy even more fashionable and historic Korean style at the Yangjindang house, which is based on 17th-century designs. The Museum of Korea Emigration History is another fascinating site with displays examining the historical patterns of Korean migration to other countries.

Many of Incheon’s other attractions are easily reachable from the island. Head to Downtown Incheon and the Chinatown area when you are ready for a change of atmosphere.

As well as offering a great day out for residents of Incheon, Wolmido draws sightseers from Seoul. Get to Wolmido from the South Korean capital in less than 90 minutes by public transportation. Come in the warmer months to enjoy the island’s outdoor attractions and to see its beautiful scenery at its best.
