Hotels in Uptown District, Banff

"Booked 4 nights at this hotel for a family vacation. Because we booked on Expedia I’m sure we were given the oldest and least accessible room. We had to haul our luggage up and down stairs as there was no other way of getting to our room. Then our room was on the side of the hotel and had a living area upstairs and the bedroom downstairs. More hauling luggage up and down stairs. Room was old and needed to be updated. Bed was lumpy. When asked about changing rooms front desk told us that was all they had and didn’t try very hard to help us. We will not stay here again. "

"The kitchen had most things. We asked the front desk for bucket coffee filters and it would have been nice to have a not-stick frying pan or skillet. Otherwise, it met all our needs. Great spot after a day of skiing and hiking."

"Parking was difficult unless you pay for underground parking - which should be included with the nightly rate, in my opinion. We had a room right next to the lobby, so it was loud from other guests. No breakfast option."

"The price listed on Expedia was not the price we paid; there was additional costs because I booked 3 rooms instead of 1 which cost me an additional $55.00 a night. The room was not clean when we checked in; there was debris on the bathroom floor and a sticker on the tile in the bathroom at the floor. All 3 rooms were different when we specifically ask for 3 identical rooms and were assured that they would be when we booked; The rooms were "of the same class" but not identical. Furniture was in need of repair, the bed frame was broken, the room was extremely warm and they lock on the door stopped working; the room door would not lock. The property repaired the bed frame and the dresser drawers but not the door lock; we were told that maintenance was not available in the evening and we could remain in the same room with the door not locking or the hotel could move us at 8:30pm while we were at a family wedding and nothing could be done with the heating issue. Rooms were very warm upon arrival +25 C, the A/C works but is loud and wakes you up when your asleep; you have to have the A/C working during the night or you cook in the room even with the heating set at 10 C. All in all it was a very poor experience and I would not recommend staying here if given the choice again."
