"If you like closeness to nature, this the place for you. Squirrels, birds and monkeys visited our balcony during our stay. The glass walled villa offers amazing view of the forest in all four directions but if you prefer privacy, draw the curtains, which we didn't have to use. Given the location, expect some ants, mostly in the bathtub but they don't bite or bother us. The adorable resident dogs do bark intermittently at night so bring ear plugs if necessary. Complimentary pickup/dropoff service...

Tanjung Rhu Resort

"During my previous visit to Langkawi, I used a day pass at Tanjung Rhu Resort and promised myself I would stay here next time. This stay exceeded all my expectations and was truly wonderful! I will definitely choose this resort again on my next trip to Langkawi. The beach is right in front of the resort and incredibly peaceful—absolutely perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff's hospitality was also very attentive. The only minor disappointment was the staff at breakfast, whose service felt a bit careless. However, overall it was an amazing experience, and I can't wait to return!"

We encountered two separate issues during our stay and it took a bit of back and forth of emailing and Expedia’s interference to resolve. "The hotel is decent overall. From our experience, cleanliness standards in some hotels and resort areas in Malaysia may differ from what we are used to in Canada. When we arrived, the toilet bowl was not properly cleaned, and there were hairs on the bathroom floor. The beach, however, is excellent — white sand, shallow water, and very family-friendly, especially for kids. There are also plenty of activities available directly on the beach, such as jet skiing and paragliding. The sunsets were absolutely beautiful and one of the highlights of our stay. I would not recommend purchasing the breakfast. We tried it once and paid directly at the counter, but the experience was disappointing. The staff were slow to clear tables after guests left, so many tables remained dirty for quite a while. The cleanliness of the glasses also left much to be desired, and it was difficult to find a reasonably clean glass for juice. In addition, the food selection was quite limited for the price. The room does include a fridge, so instead we used Grab to visit a nearby fruit shop and bought fresh fruit and yogurt, which worked much better for us. I also highly recommend signing up for the Villa Gold Card during check-in. It’s free and gives access to the infinity pool as well as a 10% discount on food. This was our third hotel in Malaysia during our two-week trip, and we noticed that the level of service is generally different from what we are accustomed to in Canada or Mexico."

"Great hotel in Kuah. We booked this hotel after a bad experience at another hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a bigger room which was just amazing. Nice spacious room with a view of the pool. There are plenty of shops and food places near by however it is far from the beach."

"I really enjoyed staying in Westin hotel in Langkawi. I extended my stay there for two more days. The room was nice and clean. Outdoor pool was really nice facing the sea view. Breakfast was very good with a variety of dishes. I also liked restaurant breezes next the reception. They had delicious dishes and drinks there. Fitness center with good equipment was really spacious. I was just alone exercising there. Hotel personnel was very professional and friendly, especially I liked massages at the Spa of the hotel."

"The place is amazing. Fantastic white beach and integrated architecture. The domain is huge clean and very quiet. The food is excellent. Indian, Malaysian or grill. Last but not least the staff is great in all aspects. They will do everything to make you enjoy your stay. Not far from perfection. "
