"My visit was an absolute pleasure to be there, host was awesome. There was a some issue with booking but host was quickly sorted out. Property was immaculately cleaned, maintained and beautifully picturesque village. Food was awesome too. Huge thank you for an awesome experience. I will recommend anyone to visit and enjoy this hidden gem in a small village. Easy access to motor way. Thank you"

"Overall enjoyable stay. Staff friendly and supportive. Parking easy. Room overall comfortable - radiator and heater helped warm the room. Shower needs removal of mould and descaling of shower head. Preordering breakfast worked fine and the omelette was very enjoyable. Dinner was good. Sharing starter good as was the beef stew and Bull burger. Crumble nice. Enjoyable drinks in the bar."

"I stay away around 200 nights a year and this place is ok. Comfy bed Nice properly, but the staff are just woefully inept at hosting, I wasn’t offered an evening meal or breakfast. The bar staff are quite possibly the least friendly robots one can imagine. Then there is the traffic outside the rooms, staying on the ground floor close to bins, the bottle emptying goes on until 11pm and then the bin truck arrives 6 hours later in the early hours for recycling.. then you have to deal with the...

"The food was excellent - both breakfast and evening meal. Full fresh cooked breakfast included in the cost of the room. Proper Americano coffee served at no extra cost with breakfast! I had a glass of champagne with the evening meal and it was chilled, bubbly and perfect. "

"Breakfast needs a re think. 15 mins to get a fried egg is not really acceptable and the choice of items limited. Hot food was not particularly hot."

"Excellent 2 night stay at the Hare and hounds. Such a lovely well presented pub and very nicely decorated rooms, Our room was named "The Flying Duck" and it was perfect. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was amaizing. Breakfast both mornings was fab and fresh Its an easy 20 minute walk into Newbury but if walkings not your thing its a short drive with lots of pay and display parking in the town centre. On the topic of parking loads of free parking in the carpark...

"Clean room nicely appointed. Quaint bar with wood fire and good selection of drinks including local ales. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast included was cereals and breakfast sandwiches (bacon, eggs etc) . Would stay again if in that area."

"Property was as expected. Parking was plentiful, room was clean, food was good. Stayed here with my 85 year old mother-in-law who has mobility issues and is dairy, wheat and gluten free. Food was a little limited and the lack of a non dairy spread at breakfast was a surprise. however the staff went out of their way to accommodate her and as this was her first time in any hotel she loved it."

"Beautiful place and right in the city centre, so great for movement around. Hotel itself quite neat and they made efforts to give us early check in. They also offered to keep our luggage until our next visit."
