Sotetsu Tsumagoi Panorama Line hotels

It was an amazing stay here in Shimaya. The hosts are very helpful. They can pick you up from the station (though it only takes a few minutes walk to get there) and drop you off at Jigokudani Monkey Park for free. As we came during the winter, the night could be pretty cold even with the heater on so we asked the hosts for help and they brought an extra heater to our room. The onsen in the ryokan is just wonderful. There are public and private onsens provided but since there weren't many people...

Very accommodating, excellent service and excellent room. Our room had our own tiny hot spring bath so it was really cool. Also the owner is super friendly, we left our luggage there before check in and they helped us carry it up into our room. It's about 8 min walk to Yubatake (aka the center Kusatsu tourist area). Facility wise, they have free coffee and water, the owner even gave us milk as present 😊 they also have a super cool game room where they have japanese (childhood?) games.

Strategic location in the middle of old karuizawa. Perfect walking surround. Hotel give unlimited parking ticket.

Traditional plus western settings

A very tastefully styled property with comfortable rooms and a very pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent. I also really enjoyed in on-site public bath. There was plenty of parking during my stay. I would return to this property.
