"The cottage was gorgeous, in a lovely quiet location and parking at the back. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We only stayed a night but it had almost everything you'd need for a stay. A bit of soap in the bathroom and teatowel/towel and washing up liquid in the kitchen with some milk for a cuppa when you arrive would have made it perfect. "Loved this hotel and the people! Arrived late from Ireland and they made us right at home. Great breakfast and then walk to the main city and Cathedral area. Stunning city!!! Then off to the Manchester stadium for a souvenir. Then we caught the train in the hotel to York. It was a perfect stay (great food in the bar too)."

"Terrific stay for two nights. Very central—walk to the shambles, Cathedral, pubs and dinners…we also took a bus from just down the street into the farmlands of Ampleforth and Scawton (1 hr 10 minutes)…and then train back from Helmsley…it was a wonderful trip to visit our ancestors dating back to 1790 in the farms and in the city if York from 1888…great staff…"
