"Great location for walks around Thirlmere and for doing Helvellyn. Both evening meal & breakfast was good & service couldnโt be faulted. The room & bathroom were a good size for an overnight stay , one thing that could be improved is comfy pillows. The lady who dealt with our check-in & served us in the evening & for breakfast was very helpful, friendly & an asset to the hotel."

"Staff were lovely and helpful. Let us check in early as our room was ready and then held our bags when we left until our train in the afternoon. Breakfast was a highlight. A lot of choice."

"Really lovely stay. The room was very spacious, spotlessly clean and well kept, with a modern bathroom. The spa was excellent, and it was especially nice to relax in the hot tub overlooking the mountains. Breakfast had a great range of options, including a hot breakfast and continental selection, and the food was excellent. Would definitely stay again. The only slight downside was the ยฃ10 parking charge, although I appreciate parking in the area is limited."
