"While a 10-15 minute walk from downtown, the scenery and location were gorgeous and quaint. The staff, the room, the breakfast, and the stay were just what we were looking for. We took the train to Durham, dropped our packs off at the inn, and spent the rest of the day walking around town and along the river. "

"Stayed here for a wedding in nearby Morpeth and was well impressed. The owner and her family were superb hosts, and nothing wax too much trouble. Breakfast superb, rooms clean and comfy, and 72 free parking round the back of the property make it a great base for a long weekend to explore the area. Would happily return!"

"Hotel was lovely, decent price as breakfast included. Easy check in/out, plenty of parking. We stayed there for the Sam Fender concert at St James Park, got an Uber eachway, 5-8 min drive. "

"Amazing all round really enjoyed our stay "

"Beautiful, spacious and clean accommodation. All staff were very friendly from check-in, waiting staff, housekeeping staff, to grounds maintenance. Even the chef took the time to speak to us after breakfast. The outside area is perfect for young families - there’s a great, enclosed play park and lovely green spaces (with tractors to play on!) for young children to run about. Both the Sunday roast and breakfast were delicious. A brilliant location for exploring a beautiful area of the country."
