"I've been staying here for the last few weeks in different rooms. The place just needs a little TLC. Half the shower dont have hot water, lights not working and beds feel a little unstable but, its very cheap so just about acceptable living conditions. "

"It's a very old building with only stairs but staff was more than pleasant adverse helpful. They bought our luggage up to our room and then even brought it back down I highly recommend this place."

"Excellent 2 night stay at the Hare and hounds. Such a lovely well presented pub and very nicely decorated rooms, Our room was named "The Flying Duck" and it was perfect. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was amaizing. Breakfast both mornings was fab and fresh Its an easy 20 minute walk into Newbury but if walkings not your thing its a short drive with lots of pay and display parking in the town centre. On the topic of parking loads of free parking in the carpark...

"Had received all the information about checking in along with the room number we were due to be in the morning of checking in i received a call to say there was a issues with the room and that we had been changed to a different one if you are given room 15 its not suitable for a couple.
