"The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the rooms really comfortable and so clean. The whole place was warm ,which was a benefit as the weather outside was distinctly wet and cold.( It was March) The breakfast was all you could wish for and the communal table was an opportunity to meet and talk to people from all over the world. "This property is wonderful.. it's out in the country. Probably 20 miles from Saracusa, And that is what the issue is: If you drive to the property, no problem at all. But if you take a taxi, be prepared to exist on only the breakfast that they offer. The breakfast is wonderful, no hot food, but everything else you could ask for in a bed and breakfast-tyoe breakfast. But there is no lunch or dinner available. So if you take a taxi you're going to have to be very imaginative about how to eat for...

"Hotel was so convenient to the center of Ortigia and the most beautiful piazza Archimeade- lots of cafes and restaurants. Emanuela, who ran the hotel was so helpful with valet details and giving us lots of suggestions for breakfast and dinner. They upgraded our room and they had a really comfy bed with the best pillows! Overall an excellent stay!"

"Best view in town - right on the water. We stayed in the Alfeo apartment with our 2 kids and we loved it. Large apartment and the view was magical. At night you can hear the party boats and some voices from below but they eventually move on - not a big deal. A true gem!"

"Palazzo Del Sale is a gem. Giovanni was so welcoming and friendly, as were his staff and dog Gigi. At check in we were treated to a cappuchino before Giovanni helped us with our bags up to our room. The location of the hotel is perfect for easy walking around beautiful Ortigia. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable and having the patio just outside our door an added bonus. I highly recommend the Palazzo Del Sale and look forward to visiting again. "
