"Had a great 12 days at Cairns Colonial Club over the recent school holidays. The kids enjoyed the pool area and making new friends every day. The convenience of a cafe, bar, pizza place and also breakfast buffet were great to integrate across our holiday when we weren’t out sight seeing. "Staff was nice but didn’t care to help. Check in was ok- I asked if we could check in early and the lady was rude. We got to the room and it has 2 towels and a floor mat. Not even a hand towel. Floor needed to be cleaned. Could have used a blow dryer. No fridge or microwave in the room. The lobby closes and is not manned 24/7. Rooms were not quiet. Could hear families and cars. This came up as a hotel not a hostel. This is a hostel."
