Very helpful and friendly staff made us feel welcomed. There was even a mini stamp rally around the building which was great for us and our teen child to explore. "This is very much an onsen experience with built in breakfast and dinner. It forces you to slow down, which is exactly what you need. The breakfast and dinner timings can be a little prescriptive but understandable given that all guests must be accommodated. The onsen is beautiful and the overall setting is beautiful. Chose half board and the Japanese style dinner was very tasty, served in traditional partitioned areas for semi-private dining. Similar to a tasting menu with lots of small dishes and courses. Onsen area was lovely and relaxing. Indoor and outdoor onsen plus sauna."

"The place is great but i could not use the bath due to my tattoos. Also the room we stayed in was a smoking room when we paid for non-smoking. There is not a lot to do around the hotel unless you get a bus to another town. Breakfast was a very traditional Japanese breakfast."
