"This was one of the prettiest places we've ever stayed in. Breakfast was delicious and personalised, wonderfully renovated pub and hotel rooms. Staff were really friendly and great pub to enjoy a drink or eat in. Comfortable, quiet and extremely relaxing with added bonus of bath and sash windows which opened to look out at the front of the property. PERFECT!!"

"From the photos of the rooms I had seen, I was prepared for a rather boring, average room, so I was very pleasantly surprised when the room turned out to be very stylish and charming. The fabrics were of lovely and of good quality and there were antiques as well as modern touches. The bathroom was spacious and had really nice granite and large porcelain tile. "Room was good. The Netflix/Prime Video wasn’t working. Went to front desk and they said they would send someone up. 1.5 hours later nobody arrived. Went back down and they said they have had issue before. Said they would bring me an hdmi cable to my room. Never received. Fire alarm went off at 645 in the morning. Took a couple minutes for them to turn off and no fire in the building."

"We loved the older Country Club charm. It was beautiful to look out at the water from our room and walk to the castle ruins. The dining is charming as well! Great spot for quietness. We will come back!"

"Bed was comfortable and breakfast very nice. Negatives - no air con on a very hot day/night and shower problematic. Couldn’t avoid getting hair wet, shower head too high to adjust and no soap in dispenser. Otherwise all good."

"We spent the weekend here and had a lovely stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the hotel felt clean and comfortable. Easy to find and park. The spa was a really spacious, relaxing, and well maintained. The only minor downside was the view from our room, although that’s not really something the hotel can control. We were also a little disappointed that the spa appeared to close an hour earlier than expected on the Saturday evening. It’s possible I may have misunderstood...

"The White House end of the hotel is lovely. Sadly we were in a different part where the rooms were tired and ultra basic. Our room stank of vomit, the mattress was very old and uncomfortable, we could feel the springs in the bed. We only had one towel and one toilet roll for two of us sharing a double room. The staff were kind but lacked an understanding of hospitality, in particular they were confused when serving dinner. Two meals came out wrong, then were corrected before being taken away,...

"The property is very well looked after & staff are fabulous. Ellie in the morning at both breakfasts and our check in & out was great. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We ate both times at the pub, breakfast & dinner, I think the menu is too big which led to some inconsistent dishes being serviced. Breakfast first day had no toast but on the second day had toast. 2 hash browns second day but 1 first day. Little things like this don’t mean much but breakfast is the last...
