"Stayed at two other California hostels in the past couple of years and this one was by far the best. Very private double bed, great bathroom facilities, and overall just a really great experience. My only complaint would be that the kitchen area is small. Hard for more than one person to move around in there."

"After staying in The Margot, I’m now an aparthotel convert. The practically fully equipped kitchen (incl. an all-in-one washer/dryer) is a huge plus, along with the spacious and well-maintained room, floor to ceiling windows with views, large bathroom, and onsite gym. Additionally, the Margot is located in a highly walkable area within distance of San Diego Bay, Seaport Village, and ample restaurants and shopping. The Margot’s staff is very attentive and engaging. "Our room was clean. the staff was great. I have stayed here before and really like the hotel. Unfortunately, I am not sure if I will stay there again for the following reasons: There were annoying plumbing issues in our room. The bathroom sink and shower did not drain well. The tub stopper didn't stay open. The shower valve was sticking and difficult to turn. Water barely came out of the shower head because the valve to turn on the shower leaked. Maintenance just seemed to be slipping. Also,...

"Was disappointed with the check in process, staff was cordial but not real warm. You will want to make sure you stay in the opposite side of the train, If not plan on staying up late if you are not an extremely heavy sleeper. Housing keeping was very prompt and did a great job. Pool service was very slow but nice. Lots of options in that area to stay, probably wouldn’t stay there again."

"Great location and a charming boutique hotel. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I loved the thoughtful touch of having coffee and small snacks available on the floor, tucked away in a hidden wardrobe. There’s also more affordable public parking just two blocks away, which was very convenient. Overall, a pleasant and comfortable stay. One small suggestion: it would be nice to have a complimentary bottle of water available in the room without any extra charge."
