"Great location to all attractions in downtown area. Trolley stop is right across the street and River street is 5mins walk. The Georgia Queen sunset cruise boat landing dock is also closeby, about 10 mins walking. Very convenient for first timers. Parking is easy and no extra cost. "

"When booking I wanted a true Savannah feel and this is exactly what I was hoping for! Two houses combined together and the room we had was grand, clean, well decorated. Felt like a piece of history. Check in and out were easy. The neighborhood is so cute and we walked to the river while enjoying the streets of Savannah. Highly recommend!"

"This was our first time in a bed and breakfast. The staff was delightful. Property was clean. Location is perfect for shopping and walking in the historic district. I’m giving it 5 stars for what it is-but it’s not a five star hotel. It’s an old house! The food was better than what I would cook but if you love breakfast I hear there are some gourmet breakfast places in Savannah. I would stay here again and recommend to a friend for an affordable bed and breakfast. "

"Breakfast menu fresh. Nice views of the city and river. Excellent hotel for families. Staff and services/amenities were great. Will definitely come back. The parking was a bit pricey. And I only wish that the industrial/transport trucks would have an alternate route that’s away from the city and hotel, as the engine noise was very loud at times."

    Built in 1790, Washington Square was named in 1791 for the first President of the United States, who visited Savannah in that year. Washington Square had been the site of the Trustees' Garden. Named for the trustees of Oglethorpe's colony the garden was the proving ground for a variety of experimental crops—including mulberry (for silkworms), hemp, and indigo—viewed as potential cash crops for the new colony. Most of these experiments proved unsuccessful. Washington Square is on Houston, between Bryan and Congress Streets. Washington Square was one of only two squares named to honor a then-living person; Troup Square was the other. Washington Square was once the site of massive New Year's Eve bonfires; these were discontinued in the 1950s.
