"The place is nice enough. The lobby and the rooms look great. The hallways on the floors feel a little dark and dated, but they were clean. Staff is friendly. I had someone at the front desk give me some good advice on how to ride the cable cars and get close to Alcatraz. The hotel is ideally situated if you plan to ride the cable car by the way. Just go to the edge of the block and walk a couple blocks down Powell St to the main station there. The parking valet staff is friendly and efficient too. They do charge $65 a day to park, which may be reasonable in SF but seems high to someone from the East coast. The gym could use some investment. It's a few treadmills and some handweights, not much else. The pool looked nice, but it is wedged in between the two sides of the hotel and must be shaded nearly 100% of the time. I would stay here again though. It was a solid value."
