"Stayed at two other California hostels in the past couple of years and this one was by far the best. Very private double bed, great bathroom facilities, and overall just a really great experience. My only complaint would be that the kitchen area is small. Hard for more than one person to move around in there."

"We got what we paid for-downtown Gaslamp. We were in walking distance to Petco Park, Little Italy, the waterfront and restaurants. Use the earplugs they provide. The staff was friendly and accommodating. ."

"Our room was clean. the staff was great. I have stayed here before and really like the hotel. Unfortunately, I am not sure if I will stay there again for the following reasons: There were annoying plumbing issues in our room. The bathroom sink and shower did not drain well. The tub stopper didn't stay open. The shower valve was sticking and difficult to turn. Water barely came out of the shower head because the valve to turn on the shower leaked. "Great spot for plane spotting aircraft at SAN. The rooftop guest area has a great view for pictures. Large rooms and ample beds make it excellent for large families."

"The staff were really helpful, but unfortunately that was the only positive part of the stay. The AC in the room did not work properly, and the bathroom constantly smelled like sewage water whenever we showered. When I first checked in, there were also moments where I genuinely couldn’t tell if the room had been cleaned properly. Overall, the condition of the room was very disappointing."
