"Excellent hotel . Our room was spacious, clean and had the benefit of air conditioning which was very welcome during this present heat wave. The lobby had an air of luxury and the gym was excellent. We found the staff to be extremely helpful and courteous. All in all we had a lovely 3 night break and will definitely be staying there again. Highly recommended."

"Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. "It was close to the station. Oddly, there was no indication of where to find reception as you walked towards the hotel. We had to walk all the way around with heavy cases on a very hot day to discover the entrance. A simple sign would have helped. The room was pretty good. Breakfast adequate but not great. One teabag per person per day seems pretty mean as policy. Toilet paper ran out; we had to ask for more. Shouldn’t really have to…"
