The rooms were super clean and comfortable, the breakfast was great, we loved staying here. We did look around for a pool though, and were disappointed as this was mentioned on the site. No pool... this just needs updating.

The hotel was so badly kept that upon arrival at the hotel main entrance address, the taxi driver informed me that the hotel was vacant and closed. Windows, building, sidewalks etc were all unclean. Found a side entrance after seeing someone inside. Was told that there were ten guests in the entire hotel. Spiderwebs, dirt, dust, everywhere. Photos on Expedia are not exactly fake but there is an apparent 10-year time gap from when the photos were taken and the present. Very few lights at the hotel and almost no air conditioning. Furniture in lobby extremely tattered and torn. I waited in the lobby while searching for another hotel. Sadly refund was no longer available. Expedia should find a better way to check on their listings.

Water system is very bad. Water leaked out from the wall. I have to water for 15 minutes each time before hot water comes out. Window at the back not secure. Anyone can walk into the room next door.

Good enough for a 1 night stay in transit
Nice hotel, very clean and spacious rooms. Large bathroom with walk in shower. The staff command of English is minimum but the target audience of this hotel is clearly Chinese businessmen so perhaps irrelevant. Good breakfast buffet. I would stay again for 1 night but no more.

Okay place
The place was okay and quite centrally located. There was however some things that didn't feel quite okay, the top floor and the breakfast for example was very disappointing and if you looked closely at things you got a feeling that it wasn't built to last.

The hotel is in a prime location, easy access to restaurant and shopping. The room was fairly small but just big enough. Although, the WiFi did not work for us. We called the front desk for assistance and all they did was reset the WiFi and never checked back on us, and the WiFi did not work.

Reasonable value
No record of our reservation at check in. Initially given a twin room instead of the double I had booked. Room not particularly clean. Still some rubbish in the waste bins. Very comfortable bed. Quiet location. Breakfast not very good. Poor selection of foods. Despite this it was a reasonable price for a city centre hotel.

Should I write about New York Hotel or the other one that I was sent to? I arrived in New York Hotel around 6pm, got up to my room and 5 minutes later the phone rang, was the reception guy telling me that was something wrong with the room and that I should go down woth my stuff. Once on the reception again he apologizes for the inconvenience but there was no room available for me, and I was sent to a worse hotel with a worse room and no windows on it to make it better. Making it short: I paid for one thing and received another.

There was a problem at check-in, the hotel did not have my booking. I had to call Expedia, with my own phone as hotel did not do so, to sort out the problem. Delayed for about 30 minutes.Very disappointed with Expedia for this mistake. I did read about this same situation from another traveler on the Expedia reviews. Expedia has to improve their system. Overall the hotel room was good and clean. Except the blanket provided was unusual as it was very short, had to use it width wise . The bathroom was good and big. Good clean towels and toiletries provided. Some of the other guests from China tend to talk loudly and smoke in the corridor, also they slam the doors loudly.. Perhaps the hotel can put some policies in place to prevent this type of behavior.

Nice hotel, no frills but good quality building.
A good stay was had at the New York Hotel. The builders did a good job, quality construction with everything working and super clean. Air-con worked well. The Staff friendly and helpful,reception recommended some nice restaurants. Breakfast was OK but like everything else in the hotel was a bit sparce. Like, no note paper in the room, no snacks in the mini bar, no ear cleaning buds, all the little things were missing, only the basics were there. Had a good stay though, a trip to the local K shop for all the bits and pieces and we were set.Have to say, for the price was excellent value.

Modern city hotel
On the surface the hotel looks great but there are just a couple of details that stop it actually being great. The hotel is very clean, which is the main thing, the staff were very helpful and courteous. The main issues were in the bathroom, there was a large gap around the bath which meant that the shower water went straight down the back and sides of the bath. Also in the bathroom the sink tap was so close to the mirror that it was impossible to turn the tap on properly. The breakfast choices were very limited but ok. Saying all that we were only there for one night so these small issues didn't affect us too much and given the price paid was still good value.

Good hotel, the room had a nice modern appearance. The staff were lovely and always eager to help. We stayed here for a few nights. The only constructive feedback I have to offer is the bathtub isn’t secured, so while standing in it trying to have a shower it moves around and wobbles. I nearly fell over while trying to shave my legs. The other things is that there is signs everywhere saying no smoking which I was pleased about as I am a non smoker. However, our floor constantly smelt like cigarettes and I even saw packed of cigerrettes and ash trays set up at the open windows in the corridors. Aside from these 2 things it is a lovely hotel with even lovelier staff and I would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you.

Centrally located so easy to get around.
Staff at reception were wonderful, arranged airport pickup and anything else we required. First day went to breakfast, and asked for fried eggs with 30 minutes still to spare but told kitchen was now closed so no eggs. Not good service so hope this changes as everything else was excellent.

If it wasn't noisy ...
The hotel would be very good overall except the noise penetrating the rooms from within the building. Yes, you could hear the occasional traffic noise, but not often, however the noise from doors opening and closing on your floor occurred until well after midnight. Tiled floors probably increase the noise penetration. Any movement on the floor above (like dragging a chair) would reverberate into your room due to the lack of carpet in the room above. Staff. room, bed, location, etc were all good.

For the price, there are similar quality hotels with better amenities. The room was very nice, air conditioning was quite good. Staff were very friendly. Negatives - breakfast is not good comparative to other 4 stars, no pool / bar, lack of room service, and not close to nightlife. All restaurants in the area close around 9pm. When I tried to get a ride from the front desk staff later at night to get to the Quay to find somewhere to eat / drink, I was told I could not and to walk after evening there are very very dark quiet streets to get to busier spots. Overall a good hotel if you get a good price, nice air conditioning and friendly staff. Not much else.

Nice hotel but noisy and crappy location
The good : -Clean -new rooms -big rooms -hotel water good -good aircon -bed/pillows very comfortable The bad: -no one was at reception at night 3am -power surged several times leaving me in the dark -location means convenience stores very dar away -very noisy with cars being on such a busy road -very noisy with hallway phone ringing all morning and no one answering -veru noisy with doors on level slamming all mormings and noise coming right into room
