I’ve been li ing in Bali for nearly 3 years and stayed in many different resorts but this one is by far hands down the best with young professional kind staff too to bottom! I will always stay here when I come to. USA Pineda and highly recommend them to everyone I know.
I liked the sea view, pool, restaurant ( nice food)
The property claims beach front, but it is not safe swimming.
The spa area is not inspiring, but the massage and facial were very good
It has a great view of the ocean and the place is well maintained for a secluded location at the the top of the hills. Would definitely need a taxi or a ride to get there as the road were quite rough.
Pool location was great, temperature controlled water in the pool is the best. Good breakfast.
Road works around the property making it far to reach from the port and local market.
You cannot beat the view of Sea la Vie in Nusa Penida! A beautiful infinity pool where you can see the harbor and sunset. Small swim up bar for convenience and a very kind staff! Our room was clean and so nice with a great little balcony. Be prepared for LOTS OF STAIRS. Air conditioning was legit.
It’s probably the best place to stay at Nusa Penida. The staff was amazing and everything was so clean. They have an amazing crusty chicken sandwich. If you stay here you should try it. When you book your room and they are doing construction they will give you a free up grade i was very happy with our stay here. Will definitely stay here again.
This hotel was great I can see why it’s highly rated. I do feel like it is a bit highly priced in comparison to some of the other resorts we stayed in that were equal or better overall and a bit cheaper. We really did enjoy our stay here the staff and service were all great.
My experience at this hotel was fantastic. The service was excellent—very helpful and professional throughout our stay. They even assisted us last minute with our travel plans, which was greatly appreciated. The room was clean and spacious, and we enjoyed the good quality food offered. I highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant and accommodating stay.
Amazing Hotel, Friendly staff, Nice Large Bed and Bathroom, Also room is large. Great Pool and Bar Area.
Location abit Difficult to access due to Nusa Penida Roads, so prepare to be slightly inconvenienced on you journey, Island still Fairly new to Mainstream tourism
The hotel is very nice and has an amazing view, the only inconvenience I would point out is that to arrive there is a little bit complicated because of the road conditions, but it like that in all Nusa Penida
We booked the ocean view villa, but upon our arrival at the resort, they offered us a free upgrade to their private pool villa. This villa was beautiful! The design is very modern and it was extremely clean. All of the staff were very nice and helpful as well. Highly recommend!
The hotel was very luxurious and had the most incredible view over the harbour and Mount Agung in the distance. Sitting by the infinity pool was absolutely stunning. This was by far the nicest hotel we saw in the area.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly, and catered to all our needs.
The hotel is very much off the beaten track but not really any worse than other roads on Nusa Penida. The hotel was very much worth the drive over and drivers were happy to pick us up/take us there. There was also a short cut down a steep hill to walk into the main area which takes about 20 minutes.
Our hotel room was superb, location from hotel has beautiful views of the beach. The pool and pool bar is great to buy drinks. Nice beach club vibe, very chill music and a place to relax and recuperate. We did not really like the menu, found it limiting. You need some type of transport to get around anywhere, such as shops. Short access to nearby restaurants/shops is off track and involves some climbing. Fair amount of fitness required.
Honestly we liked a lot about our stay here. The pool was great, the drinks from the bar were solid and the staff was very friendly. The road on the way there was bumpy, but honestly don’t let that deter you!
Now for the not so fun bits….first off, the walls are VERY thin. You can unfortunately hear everything that you neighbors are doing…also there is a mosque with a loudspeaker that will wake you up at 4:30 every single morning. The hotel does provide earplugs, but even those can’t block it out.

Fantastic, but, but, but….
Overall the hotel is nice. Fantastic location, fantastic view and the rooms were super nice too. Everyone on staff were good and nice people. But they lack direction and training in being service oriented. We had to flag them down everytime we needed something in the pool or restaurant. Service needs to improve by simply coming by the table and ask if everything is OK or if someone needs another drink or food item. They would sell much more and service and would be much better. Also, I give a low rating because of the mosque that has a VERY LOUD speaker system and starts prayers broadcastet directly towards the hotel at 4:30am. Not sure why the mosque is allowed to do this. I accept and respect different cultures and religions, but this was simply harassment behaviour…

Know what to expect and have a great time!
Wonderful views from the front row villas, room service, good wifi, attentive staff and snorkeling tours right from their private “dock” were all highlights. Yes, access to the property was an adventure (we only left the property via boat while we were there for 4 nights) and certain details were a little rough around the edges but par for the course for not being a large western branded property. Call to prayer from the nearby mosque 5 times a day is very apparent especially at 4am (yes not kidding, and it lasts upwards of 30mins each time), the resort provided ear plugs but we were still a little jet lagged and up at that time anyways so went with the flow… overall we went in knowing what to expect based on other reviews and had an enjoyable stay! A unique experience for sure!
Beautiful hotel located right on the water. You can see the hotel front from the port wheb you arrive. Restaurant food is delicious. Service there is on island time so give yourself time to eat as it is a little slower. We visited in February which is slow season. We really enjoyed our time there. For light sleepers, the rooms are not insualted so you do hear every early morning noise including worship songs at 5am. Staying by the port anywhere in indonesia will be noisy in the mornings. When you arrive to the port, hire a taxi to take you to the hotel as the road is a hard walk! Overall, picturesque and enjoyable for us!

We stayed in a Sea Front Pool Villa at Sea la Vie, and were quite disappointed, especially considering the high price.
The sea view was nice, and we could see the volcano when visibility was clear.
However, there were quite a few disappointing points,
The access road is in terrible condition—almost undrivable—and you’ll have to pay at least 100k IDR for a 15-min ride to get in or out. DO NOT follow the walking route given by google maps if you’re carrying heavy luggage !
At night, walking is unsafe due to the isolated forest path.
The villa doesn’t match the photos: cheap materials, minimal furniture, and fake grass. It feels poorly built for the price.
The restaurant is overpriced (80k–120k IDR) and the food is low quality, including breakfast.
A few important things to know:
• Many stairs, not suitable for everyone
• No direct sea access – you can’t swim from the hotel
Overall, the price-to-quality ratio is absurdly bad. Would not recommend.
