"We loved our stay at Kandy Shady Trees thanks to the very welcoming and accommodating nature of our hosts. The room we stayed in was large and very comfortable and breakfast was fresh and substantial. The location is up a steep hill (we took a tuk tuk up and down it) but could be walked. "Very helpful and sweet staff. Beautiful and peaceful location. A bit out in nowhere, but staff helped to order transportation when we needed to go out "

"Our family of 5 arrived at the villa at 630pm tired and hoping for a good night rest. Pressed the bell and knocked on the door before someone came down from the villa. Realised they werent aware there is a booking for the night's stay! We had to wait for a good one hour before that poor caretaker sort out the stay wt the owner for our booking and then cleaned the rooms. No service recovery and no apologies by the owner at all. Utterly disappointed! "

"This is the ideal place to be away from the daily rut. I was away from work on vacation and made the best of my time relaxing by the pool a day at the spa, the body massage I highly recommend. The bar lounge staff were polite and courteous, don’t miss to order Bloody Mary. Room service was amazing, quick and suggested entrees. One of the managers Mr Mithun was awesome he came to rescue one night when a private party was too loud. Overall the best hotel in Kandy. Thank you for making my stay memorable. "

"The property and staff were all amazing. The breakfast and dinner was good. Getting a ride via pick me can take some time as not all drivers want to come up the hill. Make sure you a lot enough time for travel. We were going to be late for our train because a PickMe driver canceled. But the hotel made some calls and arranged for a quick Tuk Tuk ride and we made it right in time. "
