Guests have to leave cars down by the office. Rooms on hills so it’s walkable to your car but it’s uphill back to your room so you have to take the shuttle. It’s kind of a pain just to get something out of your car. Great beach! Jose our driver of the shuttle was great too!

The views from the property and parklike setting is not matchable anywhere else. I wish the restaurant at Otter Crest (Spy Glass) was better. We were disappointed there was no breakfast or room service ability. Most other hotels in the area offer that. If theres anything to work on it is that. We loved the buggy service. It saved us.

Property is set clifside with forests surrounding the area. Short walk to the beach and to local exploration options. The room was clean and comfortable with an outstanding view of the ocean. The furnishings had a 70’s feel. The property was having some work being done, which kept me from giving it a 5. Side note; use the bellhop to get your bags to your room. There were lots of stairs to climb with suitcases.

Just beautiful! Amazing views of the ocean, lovely clean room with huge windows. The staff were fantastic and picked up the phone in 1 ring and brought us the extra pillows and blankets immediately. The little restaurant was great with a full wrap around ocean view. Excellent stay!

This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a getaway from everything. The rooms are fairly quiet depending on the people above you and every room has a great view and comforts. The maintenance at the property is a bit lacking, unfortunately. The grounds are beautiful, but we had an in unit washer and dryer with a handwritten not on the dryer to not use it because of a bearing being out… ok well we can find another option for drying our clothes then. We had two full bathrooms, one with a bathtub and one with a standup shower. The water temperature was great, but the drain in the standup shower was so slow that you could only take about a 4 minute shower before the water risked going up over the curb and spilling into the bathroom. The dishwasher was missing the bottom plate which protects the hoses and wires from being see , and that unfortunately wasn’t noticed until our last night there, because we couldn’t figure out where a wedding ring had gotten lost. Luckily on the last night we saw there was a giant hole under there and not only was the ring there, but a bottle of mustard and a spoon. Last thing, our microwave had been changed out recently and the vent for it blew directly at a smoke detector so we had to be careful about anything we cooked on the stovetop because all steam and smoke was immediately blasted at the smoke detector. Luckily there are on site propane barbecue grills so when we could fight the rain, we’d cook outside.

Wow…what a spectacular property. The view was amazing. The property lovely. If you have an issue with your car not being close to your room…then it might not be for you. You park near the check in area…then they shuttle you to your room on golf carts…unless you are close enough to walk. It does make for a quieter experience at the room. The room decor is very Maritime and cute. There is a lovely Tidepool beach area accessible from the hotel. Lovely place

We loved the access to the quiet, beautiful beach. The property is well maintained. It was a bit noisy for our family. We could hear the conversations in the rooms next to ours and the loud walking back and forth above us. It was difficult to sleep. But, it worked in a pinch.

Property is beautiful. View from room spectacular. But little things like waiting 20 minutes for transport of luggage to our room which was difficult to find and uphill a 10-12 minutes walk with our luggage was awful. Add to that, I go to get a shower, no shower curtain. Try to call desk, room phone doesn’t work. I had a spreadsheet with hotels and info, luckily the phone # was there. Nowhere in info was there a number. We were told they probably don’t have an extra shower curtain. 15 minutes later, someone comes to the door, hands my husband a bag with a shower curtain. We had to hang it. For such a lovely property, management is poor, and I want some of my fee back.

This is a beautiful, secluded property. However, if you have any sort of mobility issues, it’s going to be very difficult to maneuver around easily. The property does offer transportation from their parking lot to your room. However, it’s slightly more inconvenient after hours. The restaurant was a huge disappointment, and apparently they are run separately from the actual accommodation. The food on the menu was lackluster at best and they mostly sold pizzas. It’s extremely dated, but I bet the views were nice if we had ended up dining there. We opted to go further into Newport for seafood. the staff were pleasant and helpful. Landscaping was beautiful and I had opted for a room with an ocean view. Once inside the room, I noticed it was partial ocean view. I can’t say that I would stay here again.

Angelina, I'm sorry you were not satisfied with your stay. We offer the bell service 7am-10pm weekdays and 7am-11pm weekends for our guests convenience. The restaurant is a separate business, and he operates on his own scheduling. I'm happy you were able to find a good place for dinner in Newport! If at any time you choose to stay with us again and are for some reason not satisfied with your room, please contact us at the desk and we will do our best to move you rooms or upgrade you to a better view if available. Pictures of the property on its own website are not even remotely like the rooms in real life. Smaller, completely different/ missing amenities. Different furniture, different bathroom fixtures (i.e. stand up showers vs. tub enclosures) The pictures online show full kitchens, in actuality, it is a microwave balanced on top of a mini fridge. Horribly misleading.

Hi Jeff,Sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us.I do want to let you know that we are a unique property and all the rooms are indivudally own by different owners so not all the rooms have the same decor etc.Also we do have kitchen units so the pictures are not misleading, you just booked a standard bedroom (with no kitchen) our website clearly states which rooms have kitchens and which ones don't. Thanks for staying with us and again sorry to hear about your troubles.
