"First time staying in a hostel and it was great. Staff were so friendly and gave a tour of the kitchen and lounge areas. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and it was nice to have your own little pod vs having a little bunk bed. Only stayed for one night so didn't use the kitchen but they provide tea and coffee and even have a free food section of assorted things that people have left behind. A block or two from the main area of Queenstown but I preferred this since it kept the noise of the bars...

"Black sheep is a friendly, well-maintained and very professional outfit, offering a great facility for budget-conscious travellers. The location is excellent but parking is a hassle as it is on-street. The best time to find a space is around 5.00 p.m. The staff are delightful and the beds are very comfortable. I would definitely come back."

"The accomodation here is unlike any backpackers you may have seen or stayed at on your travels. An old but gracious manor that has been refurbed in a style that definitely would be termed "lived in luxury " that "embraces nostalgia" .......its central to Dunedin City , has an outside seated smokers area where there is a bbq available to use and doubles as a great space to share drinks and chillax to music as it is sheltered from the road and has privacy from neighbouring homes. . "No refunds is practically theft. We paid and received nothing. Phone call was ridiculous also, no conversation, no reasons, do they even speak English here? Infuriating experience. "

"I loved the historic building, right in the old precinct. Homely, comfortable & great kitchen, lounge, bathrooms. Supermarket & shops all very close. Staff are helpful & friendly. A "home away from home"."
