Kid Friendly Hotels in Oakland

"When we first drove up we thought it looked really fancy, valets and the entrance of lobby was immaculate but once you get into the rooms a lot of cobwebs on the ceiling and its not just our room, we had to switch to a different room and same cobwebs on this one. The sliders doors need some WD-40 because they are so hard to open and enjoy the balcony(again on both rooms) The hotel seems to want to make themselves look like this lavish hotel in the beginning but once you get to the rooms if feels like you're staying in a whole different hotel. The pool, sauna and jacuzzi were nice."

"We were very pleased with our room and the customer service. The Bell man provided exceptional service. The staff was very attentive to our needs. It's a great place to stay. This will be our spot in Berkeley from now on. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We had a room with a king size bed and a pull out couch which was perfect for our 2 and 5 year old. We liked the fact that there was a door to separate the rooms. Bonus points for being at the top floor and room on the end, facing the water. Breakfast was decent for it to be free and the staff was very friendly. Location was good for catching public transport as we decided early on that we didn’t want to rent a car (because let’s be honest, driving in California ain’t for the weak or scared ( me)) and gas being so high here. Definitely would stay again!! Only negative thing i will mention is that despite the room being clean, the bathroom smelled like sewage. I’m not one to complain so i didn’t mention it plus the smell went away (or i became nose blind) after a couple days, so that’s why I’m giving it a 4/5 stars."

"We didn’t end up staying at this hotel because the location was terrible. Literally about 5 meters from the entrance, trains were passing every 5–15 minutes very loudly, shaking the entire building. I can’t imagine how noisy it must be at night. The parking area also felt unsafe and unsecured. There were homeless people staying around the property, which did not make us feel comfortable as guests. The reception area smelled strongly of smoke, possibly marijuana or other substances. Because of all of this, we decided to leave immediately and did not spend the night there. Unfortunately, the hotel still refused to fully refund our money, even though we never stayed overnight."

"i had a “safe” place to sleep that’s all that truly mattered. surrounding neighborhood is pretty sketchy but that’s oakland for you. pretty big drug bust outside my room on my first day which was pretty shocking, but if you need a place to sleep this is the place to be, just lock up your car."
