"The staff made the entire trip special. Juan & Luisa, the owners of the Phoenix Restaurant are incredibly friendly. There was no hot water however, so just be prepared for that. The views can not be beaten in Fortuna. You oversee the lake and the volcano and the property is full of beautiful plants, flowers and wildlife. "Our 2 bedroom villa was wonderful. The beds were comfortable, A/C worked great and we loved the private pool. They provide toiletries and hairdryers. There is a small kitchen area with a coffee maker and mini fridge, no microwave. The only thing we missed was not having a living room to hang out together in, but there is plenty of seating on the porch. Beware the doors lock automatically when you shut them so if you are going out on the porch or pool make sure to take your key. The grounds are absolutely amazing, so lush and beautiful and a perfect view of the volcano. We saw so many birds including a toucan in the trees right outside our villa. It is a bit of a walk from the lobby to the rooms as they are spread out across the property. That makes it feel very private, but if you need help getting around they can give you a ride in a golf cart. We enjoyed the free breakfast and one morning we had to leave before breakfast and the front desk got us to go breakfasts (we requested the night before). The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant the night we arrived. The food was delicious but very expensive. There is also food available at the pool which was very good and cheaper. The pool water is very warm, it felt so good! We took Ubers into La Fortuna and to various activities, it’s a short ride to get around and very affordable. The lush, spacious property feels very secluded, yet is still just a 15 minute uber ride to town."
