Building work going on, creeky floorboards in my bedroom, shower not the best, apart from that all good, a cheap place to stay, promenade across the road, decent breakfast, friendly staff all round.

Breakfast was great along with the location. The only downside was that the remote control for TV didn't work properly so TV had to be switched on manually which meant standing on a chair to switch on and off. The man on reception said this was only way TV would go on. Health & safety not good in that respect. Hopefully they will rectify that.

Single bedroom was okay except the window was extremely drafty, luckily I had a sheet of bubble wrap(used to protect my clothing). I put this bubble in the hinge side and pulled the window shut to hold in place.
This reduced most of the draft.

My second stay in a few months. So impressed with the staff and service of this hotel. Also, breakfast is so good! Looking forward to seeing the renovations.

This is a tired old building, frozen in the middle of a renovation, with the most amazing staff. The stairs are many, steep & awkward, with flights up to go back down to the next part of the property.Not suitable in anyway for disabled people, or those with mobility issues, yet this is not stated anywhere on the info issued by the hotel. I was allocated room 40...third floor , end of the corridor single. Door lock/ handle was loose & insecure. The large double glazed window was "blown" so steamed up inside the unit removing what presumably would have been a nice view over Spanish City.lumpy single bed, thin duvet, no extra blankets. Great bedside lamp & tea tray with kettle, tea & coffee & a mug. En suite was a joke. The WC was set facing a wall that didn't allow your knees room to sit, so had to sit sideways. Previous fitments like a toilet roll dispenser, cup holder from a previous iteration of the room. The shower was a replacement tray, suspended 4 inches above the previous one, with the consequent gap on show. I didn't dare step into the shower as I could see no visible support! Fire doors didn't shut properly, with one even being supported by a random piece of wood. Breakfast however, was a thing of beauty! Abundant choice of cereals, juice & milk. Constant supply of fresh teapots & coffee, along with hot toast, & then the hot:proper butchers sausage, marvellous bacon, mushrooms, oven baked half tomatoes, hash browns, baked beans & scrambled eggs. The Staff are all ace

You’d have to pay me to stay here again. Freezing cold and they turn the heating off overnight. You have to go down to reception to ask for it to be put back on but there’s no one on reception and no telephone in the room.
The bathroom was full of mould and the grout on the tiles was black. The stairs looked like they hadn’t been hoovered in a month.
Definitely not worth £126 per night.
Trying to get a refund is like getting blood from a stone.
