"The stay there was just fine. There were several areas that had potential but didn’t quite make it. However, I give the Robert Treat Hotel as excellent in the convenience/location area. It sits in the ideal location for all downtown Newark activities and entertainment. Restaurant and sports/show venues are all within walking distance. "

"My children and I traveled from North Carolina to go to American dream mall Nickelodeon theme park and after a long drive and tons of fun we had the Absolute best stay here. Great service, breakfast, and my kids enjoyed the pool. Would definitely return here. I wish I knew the ladies name in the breakfast area they were great to my kids. "

"The hotel was easy to locate and was close to our destination. The parking was a bit hectic because of the snow but we made it work and parked in the back which was closer to the elevator so it worked out better. The staff was on point and answered the questions I had. I’d definitely book again if I have to stay in Newark."

"Clean rooms and helpful staff - only concern was directions on how/where to catch shuttle….but we do eventually figure that out. Breakfast area was nice and spacious - we were able to DoorDash meals and sit out in the open area and eat at the tables without being cramped in rooms. Was bummed the restaurant wasn’t open - but they had some great recommendations that delivered and were yummy. Great stay for the price!!"

"I traveled solo for a concert and just needed a place to stay one night that wasn't super expensive, it was fine for what I needed and a good value. Was it luxurious? No but what do you expect? I was able to grab an Uber right outside safely. I slept well and that's what matters. The only negative thing I'll say is that I wish the bathroom door lock was more secure, I ended up not showering because I didn't feel like the door was really locked. "

"Instructions to get into the room was detailed and helpful. The room was adequate enough. There were some few things that were not the greatest, but for the price it was ok. It also depends who else is staying in the other rooms. The neighborhood was not great. It is really sketchy, homeless people walking around and sleeping on steps. Every night we worried about our car but nothing happened, which was good. No one bothered us but we tried to make sure we were back in the room before dark. It's...

"The house and room were filthy. The owner was rude and could care less that the images in the description are a misrepresentation of what the conditions actually were. The toilet didn’t work and there was trash on the floor and she said that I’d have to “deal with it” because of the low price. "

"I called and texted multiple times for access to the room, as it states you have to reach out for information before check in. Nobody ever answered. I showed up to check in and nobody was there. "

"I didn’t even stay there. First of all they didn’t even send any instructions in advance. Then they sent me to a different location. The room was in a three bedroom place which I wasn’t aware it’s a shared space. There was no heat (it was 40 degrees in NJ) no toiletries including toilet paper or towels or shampoo. I just left immediately and put a stop payment on my credit card charge. I’ve never had this experience before. "
