"Right at the check-in, I was told there's no reservation under my name so I had to pay again (will have to dispute double payment), no air conditioner, moldy room, bathroom not so clean with no towel racks, smelly bed linen, pillow case with blood stain, noise road by the room, no lobby area or common kitchen facilities--it doesn't look like the pictures show. Location was okay and the staff (Joaquim) was very friendly."

"Great spot downtown close to the central market, museums, and buildings to tour. I recommend finding out what is happening at the National Theater and get tickets online. It is just a few blocks away. We ended up seeing the National Symphonic Orchestra and the next night a Calypso performance. Many of the front desk staff know English. The free breakfast was tasty and easy on the tummy. I highly recommend this place. The mattress was reasonably comfortable - pretty firm, but I like a pretty...

"When I checked in, I was advised not to walk outside alone after dark. It is just too dangerous., The glass doors going into the lobby were locked in the evening and early morning. After two days into a six day stay, I found that I was missing $400 in US Dollars and Costa Rican Colones from my room safe. I spoke to the hotel and casino manager and his security chief. The manager said that was just not possible. He said this never happened before. I disagreed with him as once I notices...

"I loved my stay, especially the staff who were patient enough to let me try to speak Spanish but could fill in with English when I needed it (which was often). The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast included lots of options from gallo pinto to bread, eggs, ham, cheese, and, of course, excellent fruit. The hotel is an easy walk to the National Museum and there was a fun (and free) Calypso concert going on when I came. They even let me store some luggage there while I went off to explore...
