"Great location and lovely rooms. However, arriving at 2020 after a very long day on the Fells, I was told it was not possible to eat, despite the confirmation letter stating that 2100 was the close and that room service was offered until 2130. I was told that it might be possible to get the restaurant to stay open, but I wasn't in a state for a restaurant without at least 15 minutes to shower and change - this was disappointing. If I had been told in advance i could have eaten in Wasdale before driving to them"

"Spa was brilliant, really clean, smelt nice and staff so welcoming. Room spotless, quiet night sleep and nice little extras in room. Breakfast and dinner very nice, again staff very efficient and friendly. "

"We had an amazing time. The hotel is lovely, every piece of decor & furniture is luxurious. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. We were booked in for B&B and breakfast was wonderful. When we arrived Liam checked us in & explained the town was experiencing power cuts & lifts weren’t working. As I have mobility issues they couldn’t give us our intended room instead we were given Room 2 Olive Mews and I can only describe it as heavenly, with it’s own spa. I booked a massage and it was great too. We are home now after being pampered & spoiled. I think we have found our new No.1 favourite hotel. Thank you"

"Breakfast setup felt very cramped Plates were cold so after a few minutes so was the food On arrival at breakfast on 1st day we were told you know the drill maybe he mistook us for someone else No lake view in breakfast room as they have erected a fence which cuts off the view but other than that was ok Hotel is undergoing refurbishment "

"Was extremely amazed by the building beautifull inside well done out. Pool was very nice good sauna and steamroom. However i was disappointed with breakfast. I love a buffet breakfast but it was described on expedia as a "free breakfast" not "breakfast included" the difference was a extremely limited one table continental breakfast and a menue order for a cooked breakfast. Further disappointed by the size one extremely small sausage 2 bacon tiny tiny cup of baked beans with eg ect, not a cumbria breakfast i was hoping for. The room was beautiful cant pont any problems apart from been very load and was next to courtyard and could here staff through out the night. I would stay again however i will be expecting a small free breakfast and will be changing to another room."
