"Location of hotel excellent for a base in the Lakes. Lovely clean rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was well laid out and very nice. Lovely gardens with a duck pond. Plenty of parking available. Plenty of seating inside and outside, which was lovely this summer. The meals I had were lovely and tasty."

"This is a fine old achool hotel, with large clean rooms, and a friendly staff. The reception rooms and bar are nice, but while we were, were totally overrun by a wedding party. The restaurant is okay. It is adjacent tobthe reception and the dinner is acceptable, but certainly not remarkable. Everything was a little overdone. The worst was the wedding, that had a performer signing full blast in the bar, and which was so loud the waiter could barely take our dinner order. It was extremely intrusive for all the other guests. The breakfast here is also very good. Suggest going to an outside restaurant if the hotel is booked out for a private event."
