"Always a nice stay and good food "

"Amazing location & clean, comfortable room. We booked in for dinner which was a little disappointing as there was a 90minute wait for mains, with no warning when ordering via the QR code as instructed. When the meals came they were small portions and and overcooked (steak & chips). They did appear to be short-staffed. We had also booked in for breakfast (The full works) so had low expectations, but actually we only waited 30mins, which was perfect as it gave us chance to have a hot drink and...

"Attractive quirky pub, surprisingly quiet in the centre of town. Very helpful and charming staff who sorted out a pricing discrepancy with Expedia for me. Very comfortable huge bed, good linen and well equipped room and bathroom. Looking just a little tired around the edges now in all honesty but still recommend."

"Mixed feelings about this place but no doubting the great price for a surprisingly good room with ensuite! Menu choice not great for vegetarians but food ok breakfast was good, cooked to order and better than expected. The downside is that it feels a bit like a locals drinking pub so as a lone female wouldn't have used the bar or bought food. Great bargain option for a one night stay though!"
