It is smack right in the centre of everything - subway, bus stops, restaurants, shopping, tourist areas, entertainment district, Parque El Retiro, the Prado museum, etc.all within walking distance. Taxis can be flagged a few steps away from your room. Even Puerta de Atocha is closeby. The room is clean and I have a bonus of an en suite bathroom all to myself. Muy perfecto!

Perfect place to stay

Perfect place to stay near puerto del sol by walking 5 min. It was also very clean. The staff was very kind and helpful. You can leave your luggage after check out. Unfortunately the walls were thin so you can hear all the noise of the others. But you can use earplugs.

Do not recommend

I would not recommend anyone to book the single room. There was no window (which was not advertised) so there was no natural light at all. However, it did have a large hole in the wall, looking out onto the internal staircase. There was a metal grill over the hole, so it was secure, but it was completely open to all the noise of people coming and going at all times of the day and night, the banging of the front door, people going up and down the stairs, right outside the room. Also, during the night, every time someone used the light for the stairs, it lit up the bedroom, because all that covered the hole was a piece of paper. So if the noise doesn't wake you, the lighting up of your room will. Also there was no soundproofing at all, so everything could be heard inside the hotel too, including everyone's conversations, people in the bathroom, everything. It was impossible to sleep and the room was actually depressing.The staff were nice and the location is good, but no way does that make up for the very negative things about this stay. I recommend to avoid.

Great customer service

Really friendly reception, and the 2nd day offered me a bigger better room after the other person checked out. Great location & great experience. Only downside was noise from the street and with no air conditioning it was really hot in the summer.

New Go Inn was located in a very friendly neighborhood and made it easily accessible to the Gran Via and all of the main tourist sites. I must also commend the workers and the comfortability of the place as well as the welcoming environment toward lgbtq people. Definitely recommend this hostal for all travelers to Madrid.

THE EXPERIENCE WAS REALLY UNPLEASANT. I booked a single room with shared bathroom. There were 2 bathrooms, one with hot water and another one without. Everyone would choose the one with hot water for showering, so do I. But I realised they locked that bathroom. I thought someone was inside so I decided to delay showering the next morning but it was still locked. Then I knew they locked the room instead of it being occupied. At the end I did not shower, I was so greasy! SO NASTY I don't understand why did that happen it is just UNACCEPTABLE. This service is so basic.
