Hotels near Madeira Botanical Garden

"Great location. Close enough to walk everywhere but not right in the midst of a super busy area. Parking was very convenient right behind the building. Bathroom was well lit and had great shower pressure. Breakfast room was very nice and had a variety of options. Roof top was lovely (pool unheated). I was also surprised with a bottle of sparkling wine on my birthday. The only negatives were the beds and room temperature. The AC would not stay at a cooler setting and the beds were not breathable which made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. "

"Very good location near historic old town. A few minutes walk from the Aerobus (airport to town public transport) stop. Breakfast buffet was good. Staff were all very welcoming and gave advice on local trips etc.... Glad we chose to stay here."

"The room we were given on the 4th floor was extremely dated & needed an urgent overhaul! The drawers inside the wardrobe were old & falling apart. The safe wouldn't work. The balcony furniture was like something out of the 1960's. The carpet was old & dirty looking & the shower knob came off in our hands! I realise the building is iconic & is a listed building but this room was not reflective of a supposed 5* hotel! The hotel was not cheap either. The staff at the bar were friendly & welcoming however the reception staff were spoke with were the opposite, unfriendly & dismissive. If your room is near the city it is VERY noisy! "

"Lovely breakfast menu. Same as with usual visits but with the addition of omlette station and improved toasters as well as make your own coffee machines. Our room had a view, both of the pool abd sae, including harbour. Nice new sun loungers and parasols. Plenty of choice i=on cocktail menu. Cocktails really well made. Lovely gourmet dinner menus"

"João, Carla and the great kitchen and cleaning staff went the extra mile to make our one week stay comfortable. The room we got was an upgrade because we had found the first room’s bathroom uncomfortably cramped. The room we got was an extra story to climb stairs but João insisted that he carry our bags. He was also super helpful with ideas and bus connections. The large windows opened wide in the evenings to let fresh cool air in. If we had to be inside during the day, the AC could cool the room down in minutes. The bed and bathroom shower were roomy and comfortable. Daily room service left the place neat and tidy when came back from our daily adventures. "
