Hotels near Long Bay Beach

"Room was dirty in some areas and very slippery where it had been cleaned due to residue of the cleaning product. Nice view and access to beach, but it did not seem like the hotel was prepared for the busy week. Parking to check in was difficult and long line/wait to check in. As others have said, towels not available in pool areas. "

"You definitely get what you pay for. It was not terribly uncomfortable, but the building itself could use quite a bit of work. I would recommend doing your research and reading through reviews beforehand to decide if it’s the right fit for you. If you’re not too picky, it might work, but just know it feels more like a fixer-upper than a well maintained place."

"The hotel want horrible. Check-in was at 4PM, but we weren't allowed to check-in until aroound 7PM because they had a Fire Marshall there that wouldn't allow them to check anyone in. A large group of familys were waiting to get rooms and we weren't sure we would be able to stay. Front desk wouldn't give anyone answers and just told everyone they had to wait. Communication was lacking in the hotels part and a few people cancelled their reservations and went somewhere else because of the issue."

"They label themselves a resort and charge a fee .. however the grounds and pools stay dirty.. the onsite restaurant is a disaster. Hour long waits for food with the place empty and they have the nerve to try and upsell as a timeshare .. they should be ashamed "

"I have stayed at this hotel several times and have never had a problem. However, when we (8 guests) arrived on Sunday, March 22nd, there were only 5 towels in the bathroom, the tub needed to be cleaned, Murphy bed headboard was broken, and there was no trash can in the bathroom. We called 3 times Sunday night through Monday to request towels and trash can only to never receive them. The headboard was repaired on Monday morning. All issues were brought to the attention of the hotel. Also on Tuesday 2 children were sick with emesis in which one threw up in the floor. We called twice to have the apartment cleaned and also spoke with a lady in the hallway who worked with house keeping. She said she would call and report the issue also. Two hours later, I was the one to clean up the vomit utilizing my Clorox wipes, soap and water and towels. NO ONE, except Maintenance, acknowledged any of our issues. We did end up using the pool towels though. I am so, disappointed in this hotel especially with the millions of dollars spent on upgrades. I will think twice before I stay at Compass Cove again or refer it to anyone. "

"Excellent staff - they solve problems, are kind and very helpful. The pull out couch in my room was stained. The afternoon supervisor brought a colleague and the two of them made us comfortable. Kudos. The check in clerk had excellent recommendations for local food and shopping. The housekeeping service needs a lot of improvement. We moped the floor with the bathroom mat and had to ask for housekeeping. Would not rate their housekeeping highly. We also had trouble with the TV. Would have liked to have some information in the room about the amenities on the facility. One can't ask enough questions if they don't know what exists. Their property across the road has beach access and a shower. Excellent value for Myrtle Beach."
