"The outside grounds of this hotel are beautiful! The location is also very convenient. I found the staff to be extremely helpful and kind, though I don't know what their English speaking capabilities are since I speak Mandarin. However, the walls of the rooms are paper thin. "Good location in the Old City. Large room with cupboard space and huge bathroom. On our side of the hotel it was noisy until early hours of the morning. Loud talkers and drunken party goers. Goes by a different name and was not on Chongren Street so was a little difficult to find. Staff were helpful and friendly."

"Given the price point of the inn, I would say that it was reasonably value for money. A big downside is the paper-thin walls which meant that we could hear the noise of the neighbouring guests very clearly. Otherwise the location of the inn is pretty good - near the northern entrance of Shuhe, in a quiet but accessible location."

"Our trip to Yunnan wouldn‘t have been made pefect without the stay in Banyan Tree Lijiang. The credit must go to the staff, Elin. Elin is always courteous and responsive. She has been very helpful all the time. She is also very caring and always checks with us to see if we have any need. We stayed there for a couple of nights and then went to other places of Yunnan. On the very last day of our trip, we went back to stay there. Elin went out her way to prepare a better villa for us. Even though she wasn’t on roster on the day we were there, she made sure that other staff were aware of what to do. When compared to other 5 star hotels (including other countries), this is the best customer service we have ever come across. Elin‘s service has made Banjan Tree Lijang stand out."
