"I booked this hotel because I wanted a swimming pool and amazing service. I got neither of those. The service was only ok because I was traveling with a translator. My translator said if I had been by myself they wouldn’t be able to check me in. In China I expect this, but not at a 5 star hotel. Hotel room: after 2 hours of the AC on high the room was no cooler. "I had a wonderful stay at Banyan tree Lijiang. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great during my stay. Nevertheless, the hotel and facilities were amazing! Abby, Coco and Xiao Tang at the reception were also amazing and made us all feel so welcome!"
