"Stayed over the bank holiday weekend. Lovely setting with rabbits and squirrels running around the grounds. Ate at the on-sight restaurant - several items not available on the menu, no lager available either. Food was very good with Sunday roasts. "A charming Gastropub hotel on the edge of Epping Forest conveniently located near Chingford overground station with direct links to Liverpool St. The hotel is a tudor style timber and white plaster building with stained glass windows amongst many other old world embellishments. "Booked for long weekend with family. Check in was at 3pm but had to wait 2.5 for rooms to be cleaned and got access to rooms at 5:30pm. No drinks from bar no compensation offered (complained and got it later), staff were very unhelpful. Delay completely ruined break. They offered a late checkout next day as compensation so we thought we would use the pool to find that children are not allowed in the pool until late afternoon to allow club members to use the pool, awesome.
