"We stayed in the separate studio across the street that has cooking facilities. The room was relatively clean, but there was a lot of dust and dead insects visible on the part of the wood bed frame near our heads. The fridge wouldn’t stay closed and the hair dryer didn’t work. Our bathroom sink soap dispenser was empty and it did not get refilled for the 4 nights we stayed, even though I requested a refill on day 2. "Room had balcony with partial view of Lake Brienz and beautiful views of Mount Jungfrau with beautiful green valley and mountains near hotel which has a pool. Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast had good coffee choices and the best flavored yogurts. We met the owner, Alex, hitchhiking from the hotel to the train station who drove us several times either from Interlaken from his famous Aare Korean BBQ restaurant to his hotel or to train station. "Going in we knew it was a historic building but the room was dark and minimal compared to other similar facilities we have stayed at. No one was at the desk to check us in, we had to call on phone at desk to pay for parking before getting code to lock box for key to room. There was no mention of a code to get back in the building in the evening. Breakfast was the standard continental breakfast. Beautiful area with an old church and covered bridge."
