"While the room was clean, it was shabby. Paint peeling in the bathroom, part of the curtain was hanging off the rod. AC/heat was fine.
The carpets in the room and throughout are in dire need of being replaced as they look worn and dirty. Hotel hallways need brighter lighting.
Restaurant is nice, food is good and the waitstaff are friendly and engaging. All staff was very nice.
There was a $126 surcharge added to our bill the day after we left and we were not told about this prior to leaving. "

"I am not really sure why the reviews here so poorly match the state of the hotel. It’s run down and a more than a bit grubby. The staff are lovely and helpful and do their best to take care of you but it doesn’t really make up for the fact that the hotel needs some serious upkeep. "

"This is an old, quaint hotel. That being said, our room was extremely musty (poor air quality). We stayed for two nights. Upon check out, I went to tidy up after we packed our belongings and I discovered that I had been sleeping on a pillow case that was extremely filthy on the other side. The staff was friendly enough, the location was good, but I would not stay here again."

"Rooms are incredibly spacious and the whirlpool tub is A-MAZING. Great location for convention center related travel. The breakfast is lackluster in taste, but it's free so take it for what it's worth. Overall, great experience. Will stay again!"

"The hotel was nice. My room was just like any other hotel room but I could see flaws here & there nothing big. The place is so big it seemed to take forever to get from the parking garage to my room. I did not realize that they charge you $25 per day ($10 credit for food & drinks, & $15 for laundry), who would use $15/day for laundry?? I also had to pay $50 per day for parking!! Why don't they put the $15 laundry credit toward parking? That would make it much better at least for me. I went for a...

"Stairs were impossible to carry luggage, Bathroom was old, tiles were cracked, shower was falling apart, no counter room. The sofa in my room was old and looked dirty, I did not sit. I checked out 1 day early...they not only refused to refund my nights stay but charged me $83 for early check out. Don't stay. There are many better places."

"The hotel is a gem in the middle of the French Quarter. It has a combination of classic elegance and modern conveniences that hit you as soon as you walk in.
